Lake Wisconsin

This was a weekend of firsts. It was the first weekend we spent the night in a house that I helped design, it was the first weekend that Sophie spent 24 hours with a puppy (named Bernie), and it was the first weekend that Sophie tried her hand at fishing. We spent the night with our friends at their beautiful (if I do say so myself) cottage at Lake Wisconsin. Sophie had an absolute ball. She spent some time fishing but refused to put a real worm on her Barbie fishing pole, opting for something in a bright yellow instead.

It was a little cloudy and there were sprinkles here and there but it didn't stop Sophie from having a good time, playing with Emma & Ci Ci, and with their guinea pig, Coco and dog Bernie. It surely makes us to start thinking about how far in debt we'd need to go to get a lake house. Maybe one of these days.

Our trip to New York City

This past weekend, we spent several days in New York City. It was great to be back and visit with friends and family and more friends. Sophie was so excited when we first arrived at Grand Central Station.Much of our time was actually spent outside of the city. The highlight was surely the spectacular day on Sunday at Kensico Dam. Many of our friends from Albany met us there with their kids. Sophie had a ball. Another highlight for Sophie was a visit to the Central Park Zoo. Unfortunately, like most of the weekend, we were dodging in and out of rain showers but it was a great visit none the less. We ate. We ate a LOT. We visited Chinatown ad had pizza and Jewish Deli in the Bronx. I think Sophie liked the gelatto in Little Italy the best though. Another part of the trip that she loved was visiting the M&M store. I think that Sophie thought she had died and gone to heaven or something close to it.
