She is very excited by the whole thing but doesn't really have the stamina to go more than a block.

Halloween 2008
I decided to take the day off today - to give me some time for much needed pre-winter projects on the house and to see Sophie perform in her first concert. I am ashamed to admit - with Sophie's acute sense of shyness, I was ready to not see much of anything and was starting to get concerned if I was going to be upset I wasted time off to see my daughter stand in the corner. Boy was I wrong.

Not only did Sophie put on her costume for the show but she sang every song. I was even more shocked that she was not one of the hanhdful of kids crying for mommy and daddy during the show. This is so remarkable for her and we are very proud. Sophie stood next to her new best friend, Maggie, during the entire show. If we can figure it out, we'll upload the video tomorrow.
When she arrived home later, we carved the pumpkins (of course, we had to take the ubiquitous "puppy" picture) and she put on her costume once more to go trick or treating.

Sophie's Halloween Party Blog
It’s soo funny to take pictures
Puppy is so barking.
There are stripes on the ceiling.
It's so funny to make me laugh by taking my picture.
I was so funny hiding.
It’s so so funny to dance.
Ella so funny from watching the goats and the llamas. Mommy was feeding the goats with me. Daddy has goat spit on his hand.

I take good pictures because I have sensilated eyes.
(I am not sure what that means but Sophie says that only people with two good eyes can take a picture. I am a little confused.)
I have to note that Sophie dictated the entire blog and except for the photos of her, she took all of them. I had to delete one of the photos of Ileana that Sophie insisted on posting because it was not particularly flattering. Everything is funny to Sophie but she was even more amused by mommy's funny faces. Instead of posting it, I'll be blowing it up and putting it on the door for Halloween. I'm sure everyone will appreciate that.

The Big Girl Bed - it's all about the bed or is it the animals?
Warning: there are a TON of photos in this blog entry. It was really the only way to accurately capture bedtime last night.
This weekend, we hit a milestone. We finally got Sophie's mattress and moved her into her "big girl bed". For the past few years, she has slept comfortably, with all of her stuffed animals, in the crib converted to a day bed. Grandma Payne would have been jealous, she had so many friends.
Sophie meticulously made her own bed...

...and repositioned all of her animals one, by one, by one, by one, BY ONE, BY ONE...

When all was done, she fluffed her pillows and firmly resisted that it was time to go to bed.

Blog Action Day 2008
Hi everyone. Sorry, this post doesn't have any cutesy pics of Sophie or her artwork. I just wanted to let you know that it's blog action day today. I blogged about it on the Tiny Bungalow. I don't have the energy to blog twice for the occasion so I'd appreciate it if you took the time to check it out by clicking the link above or in the column at the right. Thanks.
