The anticipation is killing us

So what is Chinapalooza? In case you haven’t paid attention over the past few years, this is the weekend, falling on the anniversary of when we all first met our daughters, when many of the families that traveled and adopted together spend a weekend together. It is a great time for the girls to bond and get to know one another better and to cause a little mischief in the process.

This year we met in Chicago and from the baseball game on Thursday to an impromptu “tour” of the Cultural Center on Sunday afternoon, it is a weekend packed with parties, activities, and hanging around. The weekend would not have been complete without a restaurant visit to sample some of Chicago’s famous deep dish pizza.

On Saturday, we took in almost every major form of Chicago transportation as we took the “L” downtown, the water taxi to Chinatown, and the Metra to a party at the Tolman’s house.

Posing for a picture in front of the Monkey Statue in Chinatown. Sophie was not the most cooperative "monkey" in the bunch when it came to photos.
