The joys of an evening with the girls

Sophie (in the bathroom): "EEEEEYYEEWWWW!!!"

Ella (in the living room): "What?"

Sophie: "My poo looks very bad!"

Ella: "Why?"

Sophie: "When I look at it, it is very big and very brown and very very disgusting! Do you want to come see it?"

Me (from the computer at the dining room table): "NO! Ella, stay in the living room!"

Sophie: "EEEYYEEEWW!!!!"

Ella: "What?"

Sophie: "I flushed it and when it went down it was very big and very very disgusting!"

Ella: "Can we just play now?"

Sophie's First Day of School

Sophie started kindergarten this week. Her first day was a half day and both Ileana and I walked her over to school. I can't say that she was too excited and both mommy and Sophie were a bit upset by the experience. Her first day went well though.
She is still a little nervous about going to school the rest of the week but I think she is actually having a harder time because she wants desperately to spend time with her cousin John, who is visiting from Syracuse.

Trip to the Forest Preserve

The coyote is walking around.
He's looking around. He's a Red-tailed Hawk.
There's a turtle in the water. It is hard to see him.

The Rainbow and the Castle

This rainbow is all alone. He had no home.
Until he met a friend. His name was "Castle".
He liked playing with his friend.
The castle liked sharing his home.
Except for the king.
The rainbow didn't like the king because he was so mean to him.
So he decided to play with his other pal, the dark rainbow. His name was "Pal".
Everything was different to him except for the king. He liked the girl. That's who he liked. They lived together happily ever after. They got a dog but when they were trying to play, he didn't want to play so they decided to find a home for him.
So that's how it went, happily ever after. The end.

Chinapalooza 2010

A little bit of rain didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits at the “carnival” hosted by Kristi and Eric. There was plenty of food, fun, and opportunities for cute photos.
The girls from the travel group.
The Jiangxi Beauties.
The Rao girls.

Treats. In case the girls started to run out of energy.

Our final day was spent in Millennium Park. The girls played around the bean, dipped their feet into the water, fed the birds and splashed around the Crown Fountain.

All good things must come to an end. In our case, it ended with the camera getting dropped so we didn’t capture any final pics and goodbyes. Hopefully we can get it up and working again in time for next year’s get together. A good time seemed to be had by all and we look forward to many more of these weekends.
